ZipFit Indoor Shoes for Sports at Jet: FAQ
Everything about the ZipFit Liner: how the cork insole works, which model is right for you, and how to insert it into your ski boot.
What are ZipFit slippers?
What are ZipFit slippers?
ZipFit liners replace the standard liner in your ski boot. Instead of foam, their chambers contain a cork-based blend that adapts to your foot through body heat and pressure.
Cork instead of foam: The material retains its shape and provides excellent insulation.
No oven needed: The liner shapes itself while you ski, with no need to heat it up in the shop.
Targeted chambers: The padding is positioned around the ankle, heel, and instepβexactly where empty spaces form.
For your shell: You insert it into your existing ski boot. A new boot is not required.
What are the benefits of a ZipFit liner compared to the standard insole?
What are the benefits of a ZipFit liner compared to the standard insole?
Foam ski boot liners become softer and thinner after a few days of skiing; they βwear out.β A ZipFit Liner retains its shape and keeps your foot exactly where it belongs.
Heel hold: Your heel stays down, even when leaning forward aggressively.
No stretching out: The fit remains the same season after season.
More control: Less movement inside the boot means a more direct response on the edge.
Warmth: Cork insulates without restricting circulation.
Transferable: If you buy new ski boots, you can simply transfer the liner.
Our bootfitting experience: Many support and pressure issues can be resolved simply by using the right liner.
Which ZipFit model is right for me?
Which ZipFit model is right for me?
The models differ primarily in padding and volume. The less space there is between your foot and the shell, the thinner the liner should be.
ZipFit Gara: The slimmest model, for tight race and low-volume shells and athletic riders.
ZipFit Freeride: Medium volume all-rounder for piste and all-mountain.
Other models: Sidewinder Race, Workhorse Leather, GFT - Hybrid Neoprene Shoes, Corsa Leather, Espresso Touring, Gara LV, Gara HV
It is best for us to decide together which model suits your shell during the fitting.
Do ZipFit slippers fit in every ski boot?
Do ZipFit slippers fit in every ski boot?
Into most alpine ski boots, yes. The key is that the volume of the liner fits the space in your boot.
Common alpine boots: Whether Atomic ski boots, Nordica ski boots or Salomon ski boots, ZipFit fits into the shells of all major brands.
Tight race shells: Here you need a slim model, otherwise it will be too tight.
Boots with walk mode: We check whether the liner does not restrict the shaft movement.
Check in the shop: Bring your ski boot with you. Then we can test right away which liner fits.
Replacing the ski boot liner is usually cheaper than a completely new boot.
What size do I need for the ZipFit slipper?
What size do I need for the ZipFit slipper?
The size is based on your shell size, i.e., the Mondopoint size of your ski boot.
Half sizes: Often, two sizes share a shell, for example 26 and 26.5. The liner is based on the shell.
Size chart: You can find the size chart for each Zipfit product next to the shopping cart under (Size Chart)!
Between two sizes: What matters is how much space your shell offers. Foot length alone is not enough.
To be safe: Bring your ski boot into the shop. Then we can adjust the size directly.
How long does it take for a ZipFit liner to adapt?
How long does it take for a ZipFit liner to adapt?
A ZipFit liner adapts over the first few days of skiing. At first, it will feel tighter than your old boot liner. This is normal and intentional.
First runs: The liner will feel tight. The cork needs warmth and movement to spread out.
After a few days of skiing: The padding will have settled around your ankle and heel, and the fit will become comfortable and secure.
Pre-warm: Warm the liner and boot before putting them on. Cold cork is stiffer.
Start with loose buckles: Don't tighten them too much at first, so the cork can move.
Does a cork insole help prevent cold feet in ski boots?
Does a cork insole help prevent cold feet in ski boots?
Yes, in many cases. A cork liner insulates well and provides support without having to tighten the buckles extremely.
Insulation: Cork conducts cold worse than thin, exposed foam.
Less pressure: The foot is supported instead of squeezed, and the blood circulates.
No voids: Where there is no air, the foot cools down more slowly.
Thin sock: A thin ski sock is enough. Thick socks take away the space from the cork.
For very cold feet, we also check in the shop if the shell presses anywhere.
