All ski boot brands at Sport am Jet: FAQ

What sets Atomic, Nordica, Salomon, Van Deer and ZipFit apart and which ski boot brand is right for your foot.

All ski boot brands at Sport am Jet: FAQ

What sets Atomic, Nordica, Salomon, Van Deer and ZipFit apart and which ski boot brand is right for your foot.

Which ski boot brands do you have at Sport am Jet?

We offer ski boots from Atomic, Nordica, Salomon and Van Deer, as well as ZipFit boot liners. Each brand has its own approach to fit and performance:

  • Atomic: Heat-moldable Memory Fit, with models ranging from easy to race.
  • Nordica: Ski boot expertise from the Montebelluna region in Italy, with several last widths.
  • Salomon: Moldable shells with Custom Shell HD, also strong in the all-mountain and freeride sectors.
  • Van Deer: Marcel Hirscher's brand, developed from racing.
  • ZipFit: Cork-based boot liners that you can combine with most shells.

Ultimately, it is your foot, not the logo, that decides which brand is right for you.

Which ski boot brand is right for my foot?

Honestly: No brand automatically fits everyone. Every manufacturer uses its own lasts, which is why the same size fits differently across two brands.

  • Last width first: Whether low, mid or high volume matters more than the brand name.
  • Heel & instep: Some lasts are narrower at the heel, while others offer more room at the instep.
  • Customizability: Atomic and Salomon use heat-moldable shells, while ZipFit adapts the boot liner.
  • Compare directly: If in doubt, try two brands in the same size one after the other.

At our shop in Flachau, we first measure your foot and then select suitable models from several brands.

What makes Atomic ski boots stand out?

Atomic is based in Altenmarkt im Pongau, so practically just around the corner from us. The brand is known for customizable shells and a wide range of models.

  • Memory Fit: The shell, cuff and boot liner are heated and adapted to your foot in just a few minutes.
  • Lightweight design: Many models are designed to be lightweight. You can feel the difference when wearing and walking in them.
  • Wide range: From comfortable all-mountain boots to race boots, we have it all.
  • GripWalk: Many models feature a lugged sole for more grip on your way to the lift.

You can find all models in our Atomic ski boots.

What makes Nordica ski boots stand out?

Nordica comes from the Montebelluna region in Italy, where a large proportion of the world's ski boots have been developed for decades. The brand focuses on stable boots for sporty on-piste skiing.

  • Heat-moldable: On many models, the shell and boot liner can be adapted to your foot using heat.
  • Multiple lasts: There are lasts ranging from narrow to wide for different foot shapes.
  • Carving focus: Many models are designed for precise edging on the slopes.
  • Range: The models range from comfortable all-mountain boots to race boots.

What makes Salomon ski boots stand out?

Salomon comes from Annecy in France and is known for ski boots with shells that can be completely molded to your foot.

  • Custom Shell HD: The shell is heated and molded around your foot. This provides targeted room for the ball of the foot and ankles.
  • Moldable boot liners: They can also be adapted using heat and eliminate empty spaces.
  • All-mountain & freeride: Many models feature a walk mode for greater freedom of movement off-piste.
  • Fit spectrum: There are boots for narrow to wide feet.

You can find all models in our Salomon ski boots.

Who are Van Deer ski boots made for?

Van Deer is Marcel Hirscher's ski brand. The ski boots are designed for skiers looking for a direct, racing-oriented feel.

  • Racing DNA: Developed in the world of World Cup racing, they are designed for precision.
  • Direct power transfer: Every movement is intended to reach the edge without delay.
  • Who they are for: Sporty, technically confident skiers who want speed and control.
  • Check the fit: A sporty boot must fit very precisely. Boot fitting is particularly useful here.

If you are switching from a comfort brand, be sure to try Van Deer in the shop first.

Do ZipFit boot liners fit every ski boot brand?

ZipFit boot liners are brand-independent and fit most shells, including Atomic, Nordica, Salomon and Van Deer. The key is that the volume of the liner and shell must match.

  • Cork instead of foam: The cork-based padding adapts to your foot through body heat.
  • Selectable volume: Thinner models fit into narrow race shells, while more voluminous ones provide more cushioning and warmth.
  • Interchangeable: If you buy a new boot, you can simply take the liner with you.
  • Check in the shop: We check which model fits your shell.

You can find all models in our ZipFit boot liners.

Can I compare different ski boot brands directly?

Yes. At the shop in Flachau, you can try models from several brands one after the other, with on-site foot measurements and boot fitting.

  • Foot measurement: Length, width and instep determine which models are even worth considering.
  • Direct comparison: Use the same size and the same sock, and you will immediately feel the differences between the brands.
  • Boot fitting: We specifically widen pressure points, and insoles or ZipFit liners provide the final fine-tuning.
  • Tip: Bring thin ski socks and plan to set aside some time.

If you are buying online, your size in Mondopoint, i.e. your foot length in centimetres, will help you get started.

How much do ski boots from the different brands cost?

Across all brands, our ski boots cost between €329.99 and €949.99. The price depends more on the intended use and level than on the logo.

  • Entry-level: Softer flex and comfortable boot liner, ideal for recreational skiers.
  • Mid-range: Heat-moldable shell or boot liner and more control for sporty carving.
  • Top segment: Stiff flex, lighter materials and a precise, narrow last.
  • Per brand: Most brands cover several price ranges, so you do not have to limit yourself to one brand.

It is better to compare the fit than the price tags.
