Which Atomic ski boot line is right for my foot?
Which Atomic ski boot line is right for my foot?
At Atomic, the last width is the main factor in determining which line is right for you. The Hawx family accommodates narrow to wide feet, while Redster is the race line.
- Hawx Ultra (98 mm): Narrow, light, and direct. Atomic ski boots for narrow feet and sporty skiers.
- Hawx Prime (100 mm): Medium width, the all-rounder for most feet and slopes.
- Hawx Magna (102 mm): More room in Atomic ski boots for wide feet or a high instep, with a focus on comfort.
- Redster: Racing line with a very narrow last and stiff flex for race and expert skiers.
The mm values apply to size 26.5. Trying them on will show you which line really fits.
What is Atomic Memory Fit?
What is Atomic Memory Fit?
Atomic Memory Fit is a custom-fitting process in which the ski boot is heated and takes the shape of your foot as it cools. This gives you an individual fit in a short amount of time.
- Shell: The ball of the foot, ankle, and toes get exactly the space your foot needs.
- Liner: It fits more closely around the leg and gives you more support and control.
- Inner boot: It shapes itself to the heel and instep and closes voids.
- Repeatable: If something still doesn't fit, the process can be repeated.
Memory Fit does not replace size advice, but it turns a boot in the right size into one that fits properly.
What size do I need for Atomic ski boots?
What size do I need for Atomic ski boots?
At Atomic, the size is also based on Mondo point, i.e., your foot length in centimeters. The Atomic ski boot size chart also indicates EU, UK, and US sizes. However, the Mondo value is what matters.
- Measuring: Measure both feet while standing and use the longer foot as your guide.
- Shell sizes: Two half sizes usually share a shell, for example 26 and 26.5. The difference is then in the liner.
- Shell test: Without the liner, there should be about 1–2 fingers of space behind the heel.
- Between two sizes: This is where Memory Fit helps, instead of taking a full size larger.
Which flex is right for Atomic ski boots?
Which flex is right for Atomic ski boots?
Atomic indicates the flex as a number in the model name. The higher it is, the stiffer the boot. Women's models are usually one level below the men's models.
- Women 75–95 / Men 90–110: For advanced riders who carve comfortably and confidently.
- Women 95–115 / Men 110–130: For sporty riders with speed and clean technique.
- From 130: For experts and racing. This is usually where the Redster line belongs.
- Below that: Comfortable models for beginners and leisure riders.
A flex that is too stiff holds you back more than it helps you. If you are unsure between two values, go with the softer one.
