Which ski brands do you find at Sport am Jet?
In our online ski shop you will find skis from six top brands. Each has its own character:
Atomic: Comes from Altenmarkt, practically just around the corner from our shop in Flachau. Huge selection from beginner to World Cup, with piste, all-mountain and freeride skis.
Nordica: Italian skis with plenty of edge grip and smooth running. The Dobermann Multigara and Multipista are built for sporty piste skiers. Belle and Spitfire are more relaxed on the slopes.
Van Deer: Marcel Hirscher's ski brand. Racing know-how is packed into every ski, from the slalom carver to the Freeride 98.
Völkl: Skis from Germany with precise handling. The Peregrine is a sporty carver with plenty of grip.
Head: Strong piste and race skis for those who love speed and stability. The e.SR Rebels is one example.
Elan: Light, agile and cleverly designed. The Ace SLX will take you quickly through short turns.
Which ski brand is the best?
Which ski brand is the best?
Honestly: There is no best ski brand. There is only the ski that is right for you. Every brand offers models for beginners, intermediate skiers, and experts. What matters are your skiing ability, your intended use, the ski length, and the flex.
Most people ski below their level because their equipment isn't right, not because they chose the wrong brand. So, compare ski types instead of logos. If it's right, it's right.
Which ski brand suits your skiing ability?
Which ski brand suits your skiing ability?
For all ski brands, you can filter by skill level. As a rough guide:
Beginners: Look for a softer flex and a short radius. You can find suitable models, for example, from Atomic or Nordica (Spitfire, Belle).
Intermediate: Sporty carving and all-mountain skis with more grip are worth considering here, such as the Völkl Peregrine, the Elan Ace SLX, or the Nordica Multipista.
Good skiers & experts: Skis with Titanal and plenty of stability at speed are right for you, such as Van Deer H-Power and SL, Nordica Multigara, or Head e.SR.

Buying Markenski new or used: What’s worth it?
Buying Markenski new or used: What’s worth it?
Both can be worth it. New brand-name skis come with sharp edges, fresh bases, full tension and a manufacturer's warranty.
Used brand-name skis are ideal if you are watching your budget or want to try a new type of ski. You can often get a model from a higher price bracket at a significantly lower price. In the shop, you can see the original price and how much you save for every used ski. You can find them in the used men's skis, used women's skis and used children's skis.
Our tip: If you buy your skis from us, we perform a full ski check and binding adjustment free of charge at our shop in Flachau. This applies to both new and used skis.
How do you find the right ski among all the ski brands?
The filters in our online ski shop allow you to narrow down the selection quickly:
Brand: Atomic, Nordica, Van Deer, Völkl, Head or Elan
Gender: Women, men, unisex or children/youth
Skill level: from beginner to expert
Ski length: As a rule of thumb, piste skis should reach somewhere between your chest and nose, while all-mountain and freeride skis should reach closer to your forehead.
Radius: Under 14 m allows for short, quick turns. 14 to 17 m is the all-rounder. Over 17 m gives you long, smooth turns.
Waist width: Under 80 mm makes you agile on the slopes. 80 to 95 mm is ideal for all-mountain skiing. Over 95 mm provides flotation in powder.

Do the skis include bindings?
Do the skis include bindings?
Most skis come with suitable bindings. This is stated directly in the product name, for example, "+ COMP13" or "incl. TPX 13". Individual models such as the Van Deer Freeride 98 are marked as skis without bindings.
Enter your sole length when ordering, and we will set the bindings to fit your ski boot. You can find the measurement in millimeters on the side of your ski boot's heel. We do not set the Z-value, i.e., the release value, when shipping. Have this done by a ski shop you trust, or come to us in Flachau. We do it free of charge there.
