A family business with snow in its veins
It all began in the 1989/90 winter season: Georg and Elfi opened the GrieΓenkar ski school in Flachau. Over the years, that small ski school has evolved into Sport am Jet β now managed by Sandra and Florian Schwarzenbacher.
Under one roof, you will find the official Salzburg ski and snowboard school, our INTERSPORT sports shop, ski and bike rental, our service workshop, and a heated ski depot. You can recognize the building by the large BOBO penguin on the roof.
With our online shop, we bring that very experience right to your home: equipment that we use ourselves, test, and recommend with a clear conscience.

We are located directly opposite the valley station of the Achterjet gondola, on the middle of the three main slopes in Flachau. Taking the A10 Tauern motorway, take exit 66 Flachau, at the roundabout take the third exit towards the center, and after about 800 m turn right at the traffic lights onto Unterberggasse. Look out for the large BOBO penguin on our roof.
Ski depot: daily 8 a.m.β10 p.m. Summer: June to September MonβSat 8 a.m.β12 p.m. and 1 p.m.β5 p.m., in July and August also on Sundays.

Ski School in Flachau
The Sport am Jet ski and snowboard school is an official Salzburg ski school and is certified according to the Best Learn2Ski amadΓ© standard. Children can start from the age of 3 β in the BOBO Children's Club, the little ones learn to ski through play with our penguin mascot. There are also courses for teenagers and adults, as well as snowboarding, private lessons, telemark, and snowbiking.

In our sports shop located directly at the gondola, you will find skis, ski boots, helmets, goggles, and apparel from premium brands. Bootfitting is one of our greatest strengths: from Atomic Memory Fit and Nordica infrared adjustment to ZipFit liners and custom insoles.
Rental, Service & Depot
Rent the current season's skis and snowboards, get your skis serviced, and leave your equipment overnight in our heated ski depot with boot dryers β all just a few steps away from the Achterjet gondola. In summer, we rent out bikes and e-bikes, and we have also had a pump track since 2021.
The Online Shop
At sportamjet.shop, you will find the same selection as in our shop in Flachau β new merchandise, tested demo skis, and used skis, with shipping to Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands. And if your new ski boots need a final adjustment after delivery, simply bring them by.

Who is behind Sport am Jet?
Sport am Jet is a family business from Flachau. Founded in 1989/90 by Georg and Elfi as Skischule GrieΓenkar, today the company is run by Sandra and Florian Schwarzenbacher with up to 50 employees.
Where is Sport am Jet located?
At Unterberggasse 318, 5542 Flachau in the Salzburg region β directly opposite the valley station of the Achterjet gondola lift. Recognizable by the large BOBO penguin on the roof.
When is Sport am Jet open?
In winter (December 1st to Easter), the shop and ski school are open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the ski depot from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. In summer, the shop is open from June to September, Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and also on Sundays in July and August.
From what age can children join ski school?
Ages 3 and up. The youngest ones (3β4 years old) start in the BOBO Kids Club, followed by the groups Kids (5β6), Kids & Teens (7β14), and Young Guns (10β16).
Do you offer boot fitting?
Yes, bootfitting is one of our greatest strengths: Atomic Memory Fit, Nordica infrared adjustment, ZipFit liners as well as custom insoles from Bootdoc and Formthotics β even for ski boots that you purchased from us online.
Can I rent a jet ski at Sport am Jet Ski?
Yes. At the rental shop right by the Achterjet, you can get the latest skis and snowboards β children up to 10 years old ride for free if both parents rent, and you can cancel reservations free of charge at any time.
What does Sport am Jet offer in the summer?
In summer, we rent out bikes and e-bikes, operate a pump track, and offer tours such as the Stoneman Taurista β 3 stages, 123 km, and 4,500 meters of altitude.
